Sick Aled Jones cancels shows

Welsh singer Aled Jones has cancelled a number of shows after falling ill.

The star is currently touring Britain, but his concerts have come to a halt after he was diagnosed with a chest infection and inflammation of the vocal cords.

He has cancelled four shows, including a planned performance in Cardiff, Wales on Tuesday, as well as gigs in Gloucester, Liverpool and Blackburn later this week.

A statement announcing the axed gigs reads, "Unfortunately Aled Jones is still suffering from a severe chest infection and inflamed vocal chords (sic) which makes it impossible to sing. On doctor's orders, Aled has to cancel further performances this week."

Jones is hoping to restart the tour in Norwich on Monday.
