Craig Bellamy has emerged as the clear bookies' favourite to become the next Wales manager following Rob Page's dismissal.

Page was relieved of his duties on Friday, with his departure coming on the back of a desperately poor international double-header that saw Wales held to a goalless draw by minnows Gibraltar, before being thumped by Slovakia.

The failure to qualify for Euro 2024 was also clearly a factor in the FAW's decision, and attention is now focused on the search for a successor.

Bellamy was actually interviewed for the job before FAW chiefs opted for Ryan Giggs, and is understood to have put forward an impressive pitch for the role before missing out to the Manchester United legend.

Currently caretaker boss at Burnley following Vincent Kompany's move to Bayern Munich, Bellamy has now been heavily backed to be in the running again, with SkyBet pricing the former striker at 8/11 on to take over.

He currently leads previous favourite and former Wales assistant Osian Roberts, who is arguably the preferred choice with many supporters. Roberts is currently set to take on a role at Como after serving as caretaker boss at the club, whom he guided back into Serie A for the first time in 21 years. He's currently priced at 10/3.

Thierry Henry, who gained his coaching badges here in Wales, is next at 8/1. Were he to be appointed, he would be the first non-Welsh manager to take the job in more than 20 years.

Cameron Toshack, Mark Hughes, and Sam Allardyce are all priced at 12/1, the latter recently doubling down on his assertion that he'd be interested in taking the job.

Interestingly, and despite reports linking him with a return, Giggs is not considered a serious contender this time around.
