Nicki Minaj has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.

The rapper unveiled the news through a maternity photoshoot posted to Instagram as she proudly cradled her bump in a bikini and heels in one picture, with another saw her sport a two piece, heels, knee-high stockings and a garter.

The 37-year-old captioned the first photograph: "#Preggers."

Minaj, real name Onika Maraj, did not give any indication as to how far along in her pregnancy she is or provide a due date.

Last year, she tied the knot with Kenneth "Zoo" Petty and officially announced their marriage on 21 October with an Instagram video of Mr and Mrs mugs.

The news comes after months of speculation from fans as well as hints from the Super Bass singer, who tweeted earlier this year that she was experiencing common pregnancy symptoms.

When fans questioned if she was expecting and would be posting a baby bump reveal, she replied: "Yea in a couple of months. The world ain't ready yet."

Minaj isn’t the only music star to unveil their pregnancy in style this year as Katy Perry revealed she was pregnant with her and fiancé Orlando Bloom’s first child together through her music video.

The Firework singer was seen cradling her bump in the video to Never Worn White back in March.

Months later, Perry confirmed she and her actor partner were expecting a baby girl.

Bloom already shares a nine-year-old son, Flynn, with ex wife Miranda Kerr.
