NOAA Satellite Shows Tornadic Thunderstorm Activity Over Texas

Imagery from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) GOESEast satellite shows severe thunderstorms moving across Texas and Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 18, into Thursday, March 19.

The weather system brought “several tornadoes, heavy rain, damaging wind, and hail in some areas,” NOAA said.

In Wise County, Texas, a tornado touched down on Wednesday, damaging buildings and uprooting trees.

Lubbock, Texas, received hail ranging from 1.5 inches to 2.25 inches in diameter.
