Noel Edmonds 'revealed' as secret 'I'm a Celebrity' campmate
For weeks gossip has been circulating over who will be the ‘secret’ I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! campmate.
And just hours after the official line-up was revealed, The Sun has reported that Noel Edmonds will be the 11th campmate this year.
The 69-year-old Deal or No Deal host is being tipped as the show’s biggest signing ever.
An ITV source told The Sun: “Producers are talking about Noel as one of their best signings ever.
“Bosses think he’ll have loads of stories to tell and will be a great talker around the campfire.
“They’ve been desperately trying to keep him under wraps as he’s the cherry on the top of the series for them.”
This would be Edmond’s first ever reality television stint and would probably come as a welcome break after he was embroiled in a bitter lawsuit with bank Lloyds.
Edmonds rose to fame as the host of 90’s favourite Noel’s House Party from 1991-1999 – which introduced the world to Mr. Blobby. He reignited his career in 2005 with Deal or No Deal which proved a ratings up to when it ended in 2016.
If Edmonds is to join this year’s series, he will easily be this 2018’s most high profile campmate. The announced contestants include The Chase star Anne Hegerty, EastEnders actress Rita Simons and football manager Harry Redknapp.
This will also be the first year the show will not be hosted by both Ant & Dec. Following Ant McPartlin’s recent struggles with alcohol and drugs, Holly Willoughby will be stepping into his hosting shoes alongside Declan Donnelly.
