Not again! Four-way lights back at this roadworks-riddled Stoke-on-Trent junction

Motorists are facing weekend delays at a Stoke-on-Trent junction after temporary traffic lights went up. The four-way traffic lights appeared in Milton this morning - in what represents more utility works in the village.

Their arrival marks the second time in a month that the notoriously busy route has been dug up. StokeonTrentLive reported how at the start of April Severn Trent arrived with four-way lights with those works lasting a number of days.

This time it appears to be telecommunications works in the area. It is not known how long the scheme will last but motorists will be hoping it may well just be over the weekend, given their arrival on a Saturday morning.

Stoke City fans heading from that end of the city may also be taking note with the ongoing closure of Dividy Road at its junction with Werrington Road having a knock-on effect to Lime Kiln lights. Leek Road motorists should also be aware that temporary lights could be on Cromer Road, in Northwood, until April 29 for gas works.

Other roadworks to be aware of:

  • Gas works on Longton Road in Trentham until May 10;

  • 'Highways improvements' on Trentham Road in Trentham near Hem Heath until June 3;

  • Caverswall Road in Blythe Bridge closed for works between Uttoxeter Road and Caverswall Old Road;

  • 'Highways improvements' on Lysander Road in Meir Park until July 19;

  • Gas works on The Green in Cheadle until May 13;

  • Temporary lights on Rye Hills and Hougher Wall Road in Audley until April 26;
