'Do not eat' warning issued to customers over Kellogg's cereal

A 'do not eat' warning has been issued to customers over a Kellogg's cereal product that may be 'unsafe'.

The brand's chocolate flavoured corn flakes are being recalled because they may contain 'small hard lumps of food' which have formed inside the product.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the urgent alert on Wednesday (May 22). It stipulated that the Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour 450g size packets were being recalled with a best before date of December 6 2024 to April 28 2025.

"This product may contain small hard lumps of food which makes it unsafe to eat," the risk statement added. "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, dispose of the product and contact Kellogg’s for a full refund."

Kellogg's said: "We have become aware of a very low level of small hard lumps forming in our new Kellogg's Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour. These hard lumps could cause dental harm or be a choking hazard and as a precaution we are recalling this product."

Regular Corn Flakes are not affected - nor are any other Kellogg's products.
