Notorious balaclava-clad Edinburgh bike gang filmed 'trying to steal motorbike

A furious woman has claimed a notorious balaclava-clad bike gang attempted to steal her husband's motorbike in Edinburgh. Footage captured by a neighbour shows a group of flour fleeing a car park at Fountainbridge Green around 7.30pm on June 26.

Two males are seen scouring the parked bike before quickly running away and dropping the bike. Danitza Molina says the bike belongs to her husband. They were both at work when the incident took place.

Now, the bike needs repairs. Danitza claims the gang has been circling the area throughout the past week.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, she said: "The event happened at around 7.30pm in the parking of Fountainbridge Green. It was four people on two bikes. They were in the area during the week.

"The motorbike needs to be repaired because it got damaged after the fall. This is not the only case that this happened. The bike belonged to my husband, he was working and some neighbour recorded the attempt of stealing.

"My husband realised when they were leaving. The play area is used by many children and my husband told me this week that they passed with their motorbikes really fast in the pedestrian area."

She added similar incidents are becoming common in the area. She said: "These guys are becoming more usual when it comes to stealing motorbikes and nobody is doing anything to stop it.

"Electric bikes and motorbikes have been stolen from friends and family and now it has happened to us. We just want to make more people aware in case they seem them on their street".
