Bayern Munich's well-publicised and drawn-out search for a new head coach has reportedly led them to Nottingham Forest's Nuno Espirito Santo as a potential candidate.

The German club find themselves in a predicament as they have now been rejected by their top six choices, including invincible Bundesliga-winning Xabi Alonso, new Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and most recently Thomas Tuchel. He is the man actually leaving the post, though was part of a last-ditch attempt by Bayern bosses to spark a change of mind.

Now a fresh analysis of the situation from BILD has listed as many as 15 managers across the continent that could still be approached amid the growing pressure, with Forest's current manager one of them.

The claim comes at a worrying time given speculation this week that Nuno is still yet to confirm his commitment to the club he has just kept in the Premier League. It was suggested talks would be required at the City Ground to determine whether he would see out the remaining two years of his contract, to mixed reaction from supporters.

The German publication's latest report definitively states the 50-year-old is now 'under consideration' as an 'outside of the box' option.

Interestingly, he is not the only coach in England now linked with the sensational switch. Premier League rivals Bournemouth have also been warned of an approach for Andoni Iraola, while relegated Burnley's Vincent Kompany has emerged as a shock top target in recent days.

Newcastle United's Eddie Howe is also claimed to have been mentioned in internal discussions, however is now not under consideration.
