Officials Rescue Dog From Flooding in Remote Area of Chile

Officials in the Chilean region of Bio Bio rescued a dog from floodwaters during the inspection of an isolated area on Wednesday, June 12.

Footage released by Carabineros Region del Bio Bio shows officers wading through thigh-high floodwaters in the Las Corrientes sector. One of them can be seen carrying a dog.

The carabineros said they were “verifying the conditions of families that are isolated in the Las Corrientes sector and helping in the evacuation of the Pichilo sector.”

The Bio Bio region in Chile was declared a “disaster zone” following heavy flooding that hit the area in previous days.
