Fans have praised Olly Alexander for his 'recovery' after suffering a technical 'disaster' midway his Eurovision Song Contest debut on Tuesday night.

Already known to music fans across the world for Years & Years, the act whose hits include King and Shine, Olly has been working hard on the choreography and staging for his entry Dizzy since he announced he'd be representing the UK at Eurovision in a surprise cameo during last year's Strictly Come Dancing final.

And the result is quite something, with many fans blown away by just how good the set for the UK looks this year and, after rehearsals teasers got a lot of attention online, Olly got a chance to perform his track in front of an arena full of fans, as well as millions of viewers at home, when he took the stage to give a preview performance during Tuesday's Eurovision semi final 1.

The staging once again got a lot of positive feedback but there was immediate concern about Olly's vocals, as they sounded shaky in parts. However, having watched Olly's routine for a second time and noticing comments online, fans spotted that his mic pack fell out as he and his dancers were doing their choreo.

The moment in the performance when it became most obvious that something had gone wrong, was when Olly emerged from the locker room style set to make his way down the stage and was seen holding the pack in his hands.

Reacting to it on X, one fan wrote: "just rewatched Olly’s performance and saw his mic pack drop off, must be so off putting!! Fair play for carrying on!!! Get that sorted for Saturday!!" as a second, also full of praise for the way Olly handled the malfunction, commenting: "Olly by far has the best staging of the entire contest, no question about it. Sounded slightly out of breath, but with his Mic Pack hanging off by the end - I have no doubt that’ll be polished up before Saturday."
