Orlando Woman Arrested for Murder After Boyfriend Dies Inside Suitcase

A Florida woman accused of killing her boyfriend by zipping him in a suitcase and abandoning him to suffocate was arrested on Tuesday, February 25, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sarah Boone was arrested on a second-degree murder charge after Jorge Torres Jr’s death was reported on Monday in Winter Park, Florida – in the Orlando area – local media reported.

According to police, Boone said she and Torres were playing hide-and-seek, but a search of Boone’s phone turned up videos where she appears to be laughing at Torres and saying his confinement is in retribution for cheating on her and “choking” her, media reported. Torres can reportedly be heard shouting from inside the suitcase that he can’t breathe in the videos Boone took.

Boone alleges that she fell asleep, woke up, and remembered Torres was still inside the suitcase. She found him unresponsive and called 911.
