A woman has been left devastated after her chihuahua was set upon and killed by dogs at her home in Cornwall. Bethy Bloye, from Launceston, has issued an urgent plea for owners of aggressive dogs to keep them on a lead or wearing a muzzle.

She said her "poor darling", a tiny, cream chihuahua, was killed by three dogs on Sunday morning (May 12). She said her beloved pet "would never hurt a fly" and "suffered a terrible death".

Writing of the incident, which she told CornwallLive happened on the courtyard of her home, she said: "This isn’t a sympathy post but it’s a post to make people aware. Please if you have a dog who is aggressive to other dogs please keep them on a lead or at least a muzzle.

"My poor darling girl was attacked and killed by three dogs this morning and I am utterly heartbroken. She would never hurt a fly, she was the sweetest.

"I took them out this morning when the incident happened. My poor girl suffered a terrible death due to owners not having control of their dogs. So please, please if you have a dangerous dog please keep them under control."
