Paedophile rocker Gary Glitter could lose his multi-million pound fortune after more women have come forward to sue him, a source said.

The disgraced singer, 80, was this week told to pay more than £500,000 for abusing a 12-year-old child in the 1970s and lawyers are believed to be confident they can get more cash from Glitter’s estate, reports the Mirror.

Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for assaulting three schoolgirls between 1975 and 1980. This week a High Court judge said that one of them is entitled to £508,000 compensation to cover the time she has been unable to work and the suffering caused.

It is not yet known if the women thought to have recently instructed solicitors were involved in the UK court case.

A source said: “More victims have come forward.” Documents filed to Companies House show a firm Glitter founded, now run by associates, has £137,873 in assets. It paid off the mortgage on Glitter’s £2million flat in Baker Street, Central London.

Added to his estate are the royalties he is understood to still be raking in while in jail.

A source said: “Though some were paused some years ago it may not be the case with all of them.”

The beast sold 18 million records by 1975 and despite no longer owning the master rights, he is believed to still get half the royalties as songwriter.

It would mean he is earning cash on every “public performance,” when his tunes are played in bars, on radio, at a sports event or on TV.

By 2013, Glitter had reportedly earned £1m from Oasis track Hello which uses a sample of his lyrics.

The paedo served two and a half years in jail in Vietnam from 2006 for sexually abusing two girls, 10 and 11.

Glitter was convicted of two indecent assaults and a charge of sex with an under 18 in relation to the woman who sued him, the court heard.

Even after handing over large amounts of money in court action, he is still believed to be extraordinarily wealthy, with a fortune estimated to be around £6million.

His big money earners included Rock and Roll, Parts One and Two.

The convicted paedophile's sick crimes were exposed some years after his chart-topping success - when it was revealed he'd sexually abused three schoolgirls between 1975 and 1980.

Glitter, was jailed in 2015 after his offences were uncovered by Operation Yewtree. Before then he was jailed in 1999 after downloading child abuse images and in 2006 he was also jailed in Vietnam for molesting the two young girls.

Following the court judgement this week, where a ruling was made over £508,000 compensation, Richard Scorer, head of abuse law at Slater & Gordon, who acts for the Glitter survivor, said: "In making this award, the court has properly acknowledged the appalling abuse suffered by my client.

"Whilst no amount of money can make up for horrific sexual abuse, the award at least goes some way to recognising the devastation inflicted on my client throughout her childhood and adult life. Gadd’s refusal to engage with the process merely proves his utter lack of remorse, something we will be reminding the parole board about if he makes another application for early release.

"We will be pursuing Gadd for payment and will continue to support our client through this process."
