All the parts of England set for first 30C heatwave of year

UK weather maps show ALL the parts of England braced for the first 30C heatwave of the year. London will experience highs in the high twenties and threaten the 30C threshold on June 16, with the East of England, South of England, Northumberland and Midlands also set to benefit.

Norfolk, Suffolk, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Essex and Kent will see highs pushing through the twenties with hopes of the first 30C heatwave of the year, with Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and Sussex also impacted, according to InMeteo.

A map shows the north of Britain will be windier than the south at 6pm on June 13 while another shows the average temperature up to a degree above that expected for the time of year. A WX Charts map, using Met Desk data, shows a maximum temperature of 26C in London at 3pm on June 15 as the temperatures begin to climb.

James Madden from Exacta Weather said on (June 4) "warm to hot" weather could return to Britain "from this weekend and much of next week", with high pressure returning. He said: "The more favourable and likely scenario is now for a very warm period to develop during this period, and this is now likely to bring top temperatures in the mid-20Cs (lower range) and the high-20Cs (higher range) quite widely."

Madden also tipped "something even hotter to develop in and around mid-June". As per his analysis, we "could see temperatures surpassing the 30C mark or potentially higher" due to a possible heat blast either from an "African plume" or the "Azores High" - a semi-permanent centre of high pressure typically found in the Atlantic Ocean.

BBC Weather's long range forecast also suggests a rise in heat could be on the horizon next week due to high pressure coming from the Azores High. The current hottest temperature of the year is 25C, recorded in early May in Sussex.
