Passenger will wrap up on ITV on Monday night and its replacement has already been confirmed as a show that is coming back to TV nearly three decades after it first launched.

Since it launched last month, with former Vera star Wunmi Mosaku in the lead role, Passenger has become a massive talking point, with some viewers complaining it was just 'too weird' as others got invested in its many twists and turns from the get-go, with it drawing comparisons to everything from Happy Valley to Twin Peaks.

The cast of Passenger also includes Shameless icon David Threlfall, famous for playing Frank Gallagher in the Channel 4 show, former Emmerdale actor Tom Lister and The Bay star Daniel Ryan, with the six part series centered on the sinister goings on in fictional town Cheddar Vale, as Wunmi's character, former Met Police detective Riya Ajunwa, tries to get to the bottom of them.

The rather cryptic teaser for Monday night's concluding episode read: "Riya loses faith in her entire investigation in light of revelations about the night of Jim's attack until a bittersweet farewell unlocks one final piece of evidence. The Best Kept Village judges arrive in Cheddar Vale to find a town in crisis, an old acquaintance has a terrifying message for Derek, Jakub faces the consequences of a past mistake, and Ali and Nish follow the bread crumbs to find answers."

Some people rushed to binge all six episodes of Passenger in one go when they were made available to stream on ITVX and, ahead of the last one airing on ITV, it's was already revealed what will be replacing it on Sunday nights in the near future. And it's a show very well known to viewers - Midsomer Murders - which is back for its 25th series on Sunday, April 14, with the first of a new run of feature length two hour mysteries.

Some 27 years after it made its debut, the long-running drama is back with Barnaby and Winter back on the case, following a murder in an underground bunker. The pressure is on the sleuthing duo to find who was responsible and their motives for the killing, before the culprit can strike again.
