Nestled between Chelmsford and is the stunning Hanningfield Reservoir. And Hanningfield Waterside Park offers the perfect way to take in the most spectacular views it has to offer.

There's a perfect cafe that sits on top of the water and is the perfect viewing spot. But the park has so much more to enjoy first.

As well as the popular family attraction boasting a playground and being a great spot for feeding the ducks, the more adventurous types can escape for a wander into the woodlands, which is a haven for nature and wildlife.

And being a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the woodlands are full of wildlife and wildfowl. There are numerous bird hides to watch from and plenty of viewing points to stop and have a rest.

The journey through the woodlands will lead walkers to the Essex Wildlife Trust Centre and the Wind in the Willows Trail, ending with the Cafe on the Water and Gift Shop.

As well as offering unrivalled views of the water, the cafe offers an impressive menu of food and drinks and the chance for a spot of retail therapy.
