Pearl Harbour in colour: Incredible pictures of the devastating attack that brought America into WW2

The attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941, was the moment that dragged the US into the Second World War.

Japanese dive bombers flew to the naval base in Hawaii at 7.55am and attacked ships and submarines with brutal force, resulting in the deaths of nearly 2,500 people.

Numerous ships, carriers and aircraft were damaged or destroyed in the attack, which was launched by Japan.
