Man dead after Highway 401 collision near Highway 400

A man is dead after a crash between a van and a tractor trailer on Highway 401 near Highway 400 on Tuesday, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The OPP says the collision happened in Highway 401's westbound express lanes just before exit 359. Police were called about the crash at about 6:45 p.m.

The only occupant in the van died.

Police have closed two right westbound express lanes just before the exit, while two left lanes are open.

"Please slow down and exercise extreme caution while driving in the area," the OPP said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
