Person in hospital after bleach thrown during fight at Richmond train station

A person has been taken to hospital after having a chemical substance thrown at them in a fight at Richmond train station.

The incident happened at the station in Kew Road, near Church Road, just before 2.30pm on June 24.

Officers attended and the person was taken to hospital where their condition was assessed as non life-threatening.

Police enquiries found that the substance used was bleach, which was heavily diluted with water.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Richmond railway station at around 2.37pm (24 June) following reports of a fight taking place on the platform and a chemical substance being thrown upon a person.

“Officers attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are not deemed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

"Tests at the station indicated that the substance used was bleach heavily diluted with water.

“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to text 61016, quoting reference 389 of 24 June.”
