A family’s pet ducks were reportedly stolen from their allotment in the dead of night.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the suspected theft of the nine ducks last Wednesday (May 15).

The ducks lived at the allotment in Langley Park, off the Lanchester Valley Walk in County Durham.

Police believe temporary fencing was damaged to gain access.

The ducks are described as being of varying colours, but three of them are pure white.

A spokesperson for Consett Police said: “Anyone with any information is asked to call or email melissa.sheilds@durham.police.uk, quoting incident reference 303 of May 16.”
