Pete Doherty has confessed he still has a personalised item belonging to his former flame Kate Moss from their headline-stealing romance from more than a decade ago.
In Louis Theroux Interviews, the music legend joked: "You're starting to make me look like I've got this locker full of Kate Moss memories."
Worlds away from his rock star lifestyle in the spotlight, Doherty has settled down in quiet rural south of France where he invited Louis Theroux into his home and the TV journalist raised eyebrows by unearthing the supermodel's suitcase.
The Doherty and Moss love story was a very high profile romance at the height of both their fame where they dated for three years between 2005 and 2007 after crossing paths at the model's 31st birthday party.
What, how and why?
Visibly taken back, Theroux didn't try to disguise his surprise when he discovered a suitcase belonging to Moss among Doherty's things.
Inside the suitcase, it is personalised with the words "Kate Moss do not touch" in capitals and it was packed full of untidy papers.
"That caught my eye," the journalist told the musician.
"Oh my God and mine," Doherty agreed. "It's an old suitcase that had loads of stuff in it. I hadn't opened it for ages and bang! When I opened it, do not touch. It is quite a strange thing to have on your suitcase."
Theroux said: "Especially inside your suitcase, by the time you've got it open it's too late."
The journalist also took a look at a throwback photograph of Doherty and Moss at the National Portrait Gallery. "This is fun," Theroux said.
Doherty jested the TV journalist made him look like he was treasuring memories of his former flame.
He said: "You're starting to make me look like I've got this locker full of Kate Moss memories or something. That's complete chance."
What else happened on Louis Theroux?
Doherty also said he had seen Moss in a Coca Cola advert recently on TV and it stirred up memories of the past of their time together.
He said: "I saw her in a Coca Cola ad the other day. That's what she'd say in the morning to her assistant and then I learnt that Donald Trump does the same thing - it put me off a bit."
"Drinking Coke?" Theroux pressed.
"Well," he responded. "Ordering it from her assistant all the time."
Plus, Doherty revealed he was a "very sick man" when Theroux asked him about his health.
He said: "You are looking at a very sick man. I’ve battered it, haven’t I, I’ve f***ing caned it.
“Heroin and the crack… I surrendered to that, and then it was cocaine and the smoking and the alcohol, and now it’s cheese and the saucisson, and the sugar in the tea.
“It’s all gotta go. They told me a little while ago if you don’t change your diet then you’re gonna have diabetes and cholesterol problems..."
He added: "Death’s lurking, you know what I mean? That’s why I carry that stick.”
