Peter Pilotto has announced that it will be taking a break to refocus the business and assess what the future might look like for the London label. The brand – which is headed up by design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos – revealed to fans on Instagram that their break would start immediately.

"After 12 exhilarating years of collaboration, Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos have decided to take a break and pause their eponymous brand Peter Pilotto," the statement read. "During the imminent break, Peter and Christopher will reassess all aspects of the future of the brand, its structure, business model and operations."

The designers then added a personal comment to the statement, in which they stressed how much they have enjoyed their time at the label.

"We have loved working together and what we have created with Peter Pilotto. The brand is a true blend of our passions and creativity, but we need time to pause and rethink before we explore our next steps in this rapidly changing world. We are excited about our next phase, whether separately or jointly."

Pilotto and De Vos also thanked their investors and their fans for their support in this decision.

The London-based brand is known best for its loud and colourful prints, the likes of which have been worn by Michelle Obama, Lupita Nyong'o, Cate Blanchett, Emma Watson and, of course, Princess Eugenie, who chose the designers to create her royal wedding gown in October 2018.
