Every year this kid counts down to Halloween with a costume a day

I’m sure every parent struggles with this: What to dress their kid up as for their very first Halloween. As a lover of Halloween, New York mom Jessica Chavkin decided not to choose just one costume but rather a costume a day for the entire month of October.

“Halloween is such a unique chance to dress up as anything,” Chavkin told HuffPost Parents. “I hope that Noah’s Halloween Countdown gets other people excited about Halloween and gives them some costume ideas to try.”

As a shop owner, Chavkin makes the bulk of the costumes using items from the store and around the house, setting them against colourful backdrops. The shoot takes about 10 minutes and then Noah goes back to living life as a regular toddler.

“I grew up with a very creative mom who always made my brother and I the most amazing costumes, and I’m so excited that I get to share this tradition and love of Halloween with my son,” Chavkin explains.

While some might call Chavkin’s countdown excessive, she argues that it’s all in the name of fun. If Noah’s not in the mood to dress up one day, Chavkin posts a throwback to last year’s countdown – no problem.
