RNLI bravery documented in stunning pictures

The essential work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has been captured in a series of dramatic photographs. The pictures were taken by RNLI volunteers and show the sort of dangers the lifeguards face every day. From boats submerged in the sea, helicopters taking off on the beach and boats battling stormy weather, the stunning snaps provide a rare insight into the RNLI. Crew members entered the pictures in the annual RNLI photo competition. The RNLI is a charity that provides 24-hour search and rescue service.
