Piers Morgan has announced his latest project: a book about the so-called “outraged woke brigade” and “war on free speech.”

The new book from the Good Morning Britain host, 55, is titled Wake Up: Why The ‘Liberal’ War On Free Speech Is Even More Dangerous Than Covid-19.

It is set for release on October 15 and will also be available as an audio book read by Morgan himself.

After teasing a “big announcement” on Twitter on Thursday morning, Morgan shared the news at midday, revealing he was “delighted” about the impending release.

According to a synopsis, Morgan was moved to write the book as he “watched as the culture wars raged and deep divisions at the heart of our society were exposed” during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Wake Up is Piers’ rallying cry for a united future,” the description continues. “He makes the case that a new type of ‘liberalism’ has emerged that is not only fundamentally illiberal, but also deeply flawed.

“Wake Up is a plea for a return to true liberalism, where freedom of speech is king.

“Above all, it’s a powerful account of how the world has finally started to wake up, and why it mustn’t go back to sleep again.”

Morgan is currently on a summer break from Good Morning Britain. He has already published a number of books including diaries from his journalism career in the 90s and biographies of Take That and his ITV colleague Phillip Schofield.

Wake Up will be released on October 15, 2020.
