Piers Morgan has revealed the prospect of appearing on a celebrity episode of ITV quiz show The Chase kept him up at night.

The 54-year-old said he and some of his fellow Good Morning Britain presenters, including co-anchor Susanna Reid, are due to record a celebrity edition of the popular teatime programme.

Morgan discussed his success on previous celebrity quizzes, including Pointless Celebrities, but confessed that The Chase has him concerned.

He said: “We’re all a bit worried because we all began to watch it a few days ago and we can’t get any of the questions right.”

Morgan said he woke up suddenly at midnight and he “literally had three hours sleep”, but still had some bravado for the elite quizzers he may be about to battle, including the formidable Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett.

He said he is “ready for The Beast, I’m ready for all of them” before turning to Reid and joking that “we’re not, are we?”.

Several of the other Good Morning Britain presenters piled on the pressure even further by revealing that they have been victorious on celebrity episodes of The Chase in the past.
