Piers Morgan slammed after blaming Kanye West for white girls singing the n-word
Piers Morgan has been trending online after he claimed Kanye West and “the rap industry” should be blamed for a group of American sorority women singing the n-word.
The students from the University of New Hampshire were filmed at a party singing along to Kanye’s hit ‘Gold Digger’ which repeats the historically offensive word in its chorus.
The video sparked instant outrage.
Following a backlash from fellow students and people online, the women are being investigated and could face disciplinary action, and Piers rushed to their defence publishing an article this week for the Daily Mail entitled ‘Don’t get angry about a bunch of white girls singing n***as, blame Kanye and the rap industry for putting it in their songs in the first place’.
He argued that the song was a smash hit anthem in 2005 and became ‘one of the most popular songs of the millenium,’ and asserted: ‘How can it possibly be racist to sing along to a song that was No1 in America for TEN WEEKS?’
People on Twitter were quick to slam the Good Morning Britain host, including pop star Lily Allen – who is dating London rapper MC Meridian Dan – and sacked L’Oreal ambassador and transgender model Munroe Bergdorf.
How did I know Piers Morgan was trending because he is spewing his anti-Black vitriol again #smh

The fact that he places a white woman's 'right' to sing the n-word, b4 the feelings of people of colour, shows @piersmorgan's racial bias.

Do you understand why black people had to repackage that word?

The news comes shortly after Piers revealed in his column this week that Jeremy Corbyn and Hector Bellerin recently ‘shut’ him out of a conversation on Twitter by switching to Spanish.

Responding to Morgan’s version of events, Spanish right-back Bellerin tweeted: “Come on mate, don’t take it personally”.
