A Place in the Sun viewers were left gobsmacked as couple Lee and Louise searched for their ideal property in Villamartin.

Leah Charles-King, the property guru on the Channel 4 show, was given the challenge to locate the perfect home within their £212,000 budget. Their wishlist included a three-bedroom home complete with a private pool, in close proximity to the beach no easy task.

Although Lee and Louise appeared initially taken with the second property they viewed, their enthusiasm dampened upon arriving at the third option presented by Leah. The TV expert shared her own reservations ahead of the showing, indicating that this property was somewhat of a gamble.

Louise's first impression even before entering the property wasn't positive, primarily due to its location. At the sight of the communal swimming area, Leah pointed out: "This is a communal pool that is shared with 27 other properties."

Reacting with surprise, Louise exclaimed: "27 for this one pool? ! I think it's too small for the amount of properties.", reports the Express.

As they continued to examine the space, Louise didn't hold back her criticism. She further commented: "I can also see there are lots of bins just there, so it looks like we're opposite a tip."

In an attempt to justify the choice, Leah highlighted the property's proximity to the beach and its fit within their financial limit. However, with the absence of a personal pool and the less than desirable placement of the property, Leah probed the couple for their candid feedback.

Putting it bluntly, she answered: "Honestly? It's just not cutting the mustard for me." Despite their initial hesitations, they decided to check out the house and praised the size and tidiness of the front.

However, upon entering, Lee and Louise had already come to a decision, unaffected by the low price. Entering the living space, Leah observed: "Your faces just tell me a story."

Upon acknowledging their lack of enthusiasm, the Channel 4 presenter expressed surprise, asking: "So, straight away you've walked in here and you don't like it? Why is that? ".

Detailing various concerns, Louise cited the communal pool, being overlooked, and an uninspiring view as drawbacks. The Channel 4 host posed the question candidly: "I'm going to be really honest here, do you even want to see the rest of this property? ".

Lee was straightforward: "We're not going to buy it, so there's no point. It's just not going to happen, it's just got too many bits missing for us." Leah respected their choice and led them out to carry on with their hunt.

The final viewing proved satisfying for the couple as they made a bid of £27,000 below the asking price. In the end, they faced disappointment when the seller chose not to compromise on their asking price.
