Police hit out after Glider inspector attacked in West Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a Glider ticket inspector was attacked while at work.

Officers received a report of an assault at the Falls Road area of West Belfast on Saturday, April 6. Shortly before 5:30pm, it was reported that a ticket inspector was assaulted by a male who punched him in the chest before getting off the Glider with two other males.

The male was described as being in his teens, 5ft in height and of slim build. He was described as wearing a grey coloured hooded tracksuit top with the hood up and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Inspector Brown added: "Any assault is completely unacceptable, but an attack on a member of staff who is assisting the local community is absolutely abhorrent.

"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the assault, is asked to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1405 06/04/24.
