Police issue arrest update after two hurt in 'horrific' crash in Bolton

A man who was arrested after two people were left hurt in a 'horrific' crash in Bolton has been bailed, police have confirmed.

The smash happened on Bradshaw Road at around 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services cordoned off the area at the junction of Bury Road, Bradshaw Road, Ramsbottom Road and Tottington Road, beside the Walves Reservoir.

Police officers, paramedics and firefighters responded. Two people were rushed to hospital from the scene, Greater Manchester Police said.

Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. A man - aged in his 20s - was arrested on suspicion of drink and driving.

He was also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. In an update issued this morning (Tuesday), a GMP spokesperson said he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

After the crash, a post shared to a local Edgeworth Facebook group, warning locals of the road closures, said: "Horrific accident at the intersection towards Edgworth. The route has been closed in four directions."
