A Wiltshire Police officer is facing a hearing over multiple allegations of “inappropriate” sexual misconduct.

PC James Aubrey is set to appear before a gross misconduct hearing, chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Deb Smith, at Wiltshire Police headquarters in Devizes on Monday, July 8.

It is alleged that PC Aubrey breached the standards of professional behaviour for officers six times between November 5, 2022, and April 9, 2023.

During this time, PC Aubrey is accused of making “sexual contact” with a colleague, known as Police Constable A, without her consent six times.

Five of these reported breaches are said to have taken place while PC Aubrey was off duty, while another allegedly took place while he was on duty and carrying out mobile patrol with the constable.

PC Aubrey is also accused of acting in a “sexually inappropriate manner” towards this constable on five of these occasions.

The standards of professional behaviour for police officers include acting with authority, respect, and courtesy towards colleagues and members of the public.
