Police search for 'armed and dangerous' escapee

Apr. 16—The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office issued an alert Tuesday saying Ronald Ray Scrogum Jr., 33, absconded from deputies and may be armed and dangerous.

Scrogum has ties to Pontotoc and Garvin counties and has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for rape, assault and battery and failure to register as a sex offender.

Scrugum is a Caucasian male, 5'6" in height, is listed at 154 pounds and has a tattoo of a longhorn on his neck

Authorities ask that anyone with information about Scrogum to phone 911.
