Portugal vs Turkey delayed THREE times by Cristiano Ronaldo superfans as pitch invaders attempt to ultimate selfies

Supporters derailed Portugal's clash with Turkey in a bid to land the selfie of a lifetime by running onto the pitch to pose for a photo with football icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

During Portugal's comfortable win over Turkey in their second game in Group H at Euro 2024 - in which Ronaldo set up his side's third goal in the 3-0 victory - the fan evaded stewards to burst onto the field and approach the superstar in the centre circle. The incident was not picked up by television cameras, but images and footage has quickly emerged on social media of the 39-year-old Al Nassr star happily obliging with the supporter's request, who then managed to out run two stewards before he was outnumbered.

In the closing stages of the game, another fan then tried his luck by sprinting onto the field of play to approach Ronaldo, but this time Ronaldo did not see the funny side as the individual was quickly apprehended. A third then attempting to make it on to the pitch - leading to play being halted again. It comes just weeks after supporters charged onto the field during a Portugal training session in the lead-up to the Euros with another lucky supporter able to snap a selfie with the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus superstar.
