Power Book IV: Force Ending After 3 Seasons — EP Promises ‘Fulfilling’ Conclusion to Tommy’s Story

Starz is Power-ing down a bit, ending another installment in the long-running crime drama franchise. The upcoming third season of Power Book IV: Force will be its last, TVLine has confirmed.

There is some good news, however — showrunner and executive producer Gary Lennon was given enough notice to craft a proper ending, so while fans may not want the show to end, at least they can take solace in knowing it won’t conclude on a cliffhanger.

“It is bittersweet to write the fulfilling ending of this chapter in Tommy’s journey, a character myself and fans have grown to love over the past decade,” Lennon says in a statement. “Season 3 will question everything we thought we knew of Tommy’s world and I promise you it will not disappoint! Although this may be the end of the road for Force, there is much more expansive, compelling storytelling for the characters within the Power Universe.”

That’s right, even with Force’s abrupt ending — along with the recent announcement that Power Book II: Ghost is also ending with Season 4 — Lennon is busy crafting an additional spinoff in the world of Power, which began a full decade ago. This is separate from Origins, a Power prequel series about Ghost and Tommy in their younger days.

Power Book IV: Force stars Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan, Isaac Keys as David “Diamond” Sampson, Lili Simmons as Claudia Flynn, Shane Harper as Vic Flynn, Kris D. Lofton as Jenard Sampson, Anthony Fleming as JP Gibbs, Lucien Cambric as “D-Mac,” Miriam A. Hyman as Stacy Marks, Adrienne Walker as Shanti “Showstopper” Page and Carmela Zumbado as Mireya Garcia.

Sikora also shared a message with fans: “When [showrunner] Gary Lennon and the other writers and I were mapping out our third season, we saw that we were telling a complete story, and that this was the perfect opportunity to stay true to our artistic vision and make this the final chapter in Tommy’s journey in Chicago. But don’t worry, Tommy’s journey is far from over with. We’re just getting warmed up, and I can’t wait to show you what we have planned next. … So tune in, because ghosts never die, and Power never ends.”
