Powerful Storm Ellen Lashes Irish Seaside Village

Parts of Ireland were hit with severe flooding late on Wednesday, August 19, and into the following day as Storm Ellen brought strong winds and high tides to coastal towns, reports said.

Numerous power outages were reported, as well as reports of severe flooding in West Cork, Echo Live reported.

Met Éireann issued a Status Red warning for very severe and destructive winds, with rain bringing a risk of flooding.
