Masked robbers armed with screwdrivers attack pregnant woman in 'nasty' jewellery raid
Police are hunting three masked robbers who broke into a house and attacked a pregnant woman in her bed before stealing jewellery.
The pregnant woman’s unborn baby was kicked by armed thugs during the robbery in Birmingham over the weekend.
The attackers, believed to be Romanian, broke into a house in the Hall Green area of the city at around 6pm.
Armed with screwdrivers, they pulled the pregnant woman off a bed before kicking her in the stomach and legs.
Another woman tried to intervene and they fled the property with a large quantity of jewellery.
Detective Sergeant Tom Lyons from force CID said, "This was a nasty assault on two woman, who were at home with their children.
“Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but the outcome could have been a lot worse.
"This attack happened in the early evening, so we are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything in the area at the time to contact us, or if you saw any suspicious behaviour on the road at the time.

"We are also appealing to anyone who sees this jewellery being sold, or if you notice jewellery appearing at your home that was not there before."
