Scheduled for May 5, the Newcastle-Gateshead marathon promises to provide 'an exhilarating experience for runners and spectators alike' as athletes traverse some of the North East's most iconic landmarks.

Presented in collaboration with Gateshead Harriers Athletics Club, the marathon will feature road-closed courses which guide participants through some of the most picturesque parts of Newcastle and Gateshead. From the Millennium Bridge to the cultural hub of the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, runners will take on a route that showcases the landmarks of the North East.

The race will also culminate in the historic Gateshead International Stadium, adding a touch of athletic legacy to the event.
