President Donald Trump’s approval rating is at an 11-month high.

The controversial 45th POTUS has managed to satisfy 42% of respondents to a Gallup data poll, who said they approved of the job Trump was doing.

The figure is up from 38% earlier in April and the highest Trump’s approval rating has been since May 7, when it also peaked at 42%.

According to the data the chasm between people who approve of Trump, and those who don’t, is growing smaller.

Though critics have suggested that the USA’s economic growth achieved under Trump is unsustainable.

The poll, published on April 29 after a survey of 1,500 adults from the US, comes at the climax of a busy week for the White House – including meeting with two international leaders.

Trump greeted both French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel for discussions on the Iranian nuclear deal.

Meanwhile, reports of a rift between Trump and White House staff have hit the headlines.

White House chief of Staff John Kelly allegedly called Trump ‘an idiot’, according to a source who previously worked as a Trump administration official.

Kelly has denied the name-calling.
