Yahoo News Presumed Innocent Sneak Peek: The Murder Trial Begins With a Witness Who Thinks Rusty Is an ‘A–hole’
The body is still warm on the episode of Presumed Innocent that dropped early this morning, and already Apple TV+ has put out into the world a sneak peek from Episode 6, which comes out next Wednesday, July 10.
This week’s episode built up to the official start of the murder trial, in which chief deputy prosecutor Tommy Molto (played by Peter Sarsgaard) hopes to prove Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal) guilty of brutally killing their mutual colleague, Caorlyn Polhemus. That episode closed with Tommy giving his opening remarks to the jury.

In the sneak peek above — from Episode 6 (of 8), titled “Elements” — medical examiner Herbert Kumagai (Barry‘s James Hiroyuki Liao) is the first to be called to the stand, to not only lay out the evidence found at the crime scene, but to also speak to Rusty’s demeanor when leading the DA’s office’s early investigation. Specifically, Kumagai recounts the events that led the former chief deputy prosecutor to aggressively grab the M.E. by the shirt collar and threaten him.
