Yahoo News Primary school teacher jailed for sending sex messages to '12-year-old girl'
A primary school teacher has been jailed today for sending sexual messages online to a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl.
Supply teacher Nasser Khalil, 49, from Stretchford, Birmingham, began messaging the ‘girl’ - actually an undercover police officer - on a free chatroom called Chat Avenue in November.
Despite the officer telling him she was ‘nearly 13’, he told her he wanted to have sex with her and asked her for selfies.
He messaged her saying “omg, ur so young” and went on to describe acts he wanted to do to her, which the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) described as “vile”.
Khalil told the girl he was a teacher, asked if she was a virgin and also suggested they wait until she turned 16 before meeting.
Senior Crown prosecutor Virinder Bains, of the CPS, said: “Nasser Khalil has committed very serious crimes which have been met with the appropriate punishment.
“We will seek to prosecute and protect all children from those who pose a risk to them and who seek to engage in such criminal behaviour.”
Police arrested him at his home in Birmingham on November 14 and he pleaded guilty to sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause or incite a female aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He was given a 20 month prison sentence at Birmingham Crown Court today and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
He was also given a 10 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children said in October last year that a new child abuse offence is recorded every seven minutes in the UK, which includes rape, grooming and sexual assault.
In total, 76,204 sexual offences against children were recorded between 2018-19 - up 60% from 2014/15 - and 16,773 of those offences were against children aged under 10.
