Cheltenham Town have signed full-back Arkell Jude-Boyd after his departure from QPR.

The 21-year-old spent time on loan at National League South club Torquay United last season, winning the club's Young Player of the Year award and scoring six goals in 17 appearances.

He now becomes the Robins' fifth new signing of the summer after Harry Pell, Scot Bennett, Ryan Haynes and Luke Young.

Cheltenham boss Michael Flynn believes the versatile youngster has plenty of potential.

"He could be a real asset for the football club," Flynn said. "He is energetic, he can play both sides and even though he's naturally left-footed, he is more confident on his right, which is new to me!

"He has pace and we could mould him into a very good player going forward and defending."

Jude-Boyd joined QPR as an Under-nine, signing his first professional contract with the Championship club 10 years later, in 2002.

Before his temporary move to Torquay, he enjoyed a brief loan spell with National League side Dagenham & Redbridge during the 2022/23 campaign.
