Random Kindness: Elderly Couple Teach Stranger How To Do Up Tie As He Waits For Train

This is the heartwarming moment an elderly couple stopped to help a complete stranger do up his tie as he struggled to do it up while waiting for a train.

The young man was having a hard time with his neckwear when the woman noticed and got her husband to help.

He approached the young man and stood with him while he taught him how to do up the tie properly.

Redd Desmond Thomas captured the moment on camera as he stood at the Lindbergh Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Posting the picture to his Facebook page, he wrote: “The young guy sitting down was struggling with his tie.

“The woman in the red coat noticed, and asked ‘Do you know how to tie it properly?’ The young guy said 'No ma’am.’

“She taps her husband and says 'Come to this side [her right side; he was standing on her left side] and teach this young man how to tie his tie.’”

He added that the elderly man moved “without hesitation” and gave the younger gentleman a step-by-step tutorial before he tried it out himself.

The picture has since gone viral and has been shared over 130,000 times, with commenters praising the elderly couple’s kindness.

One wrote: “There IS some good left in the world. This made me SMILE, thank you for sharing & more so, thanks to THEM for giving us all this moment.”

Another added: “I love how she is shielding him so no one will know he doesn’t know how to tie a tie.

“That’s what more of need to do. Cover each other instead of exposing each others short falls.”
