Kenny McLean is reportedly a target for Rangers this summer.

The 32-year-old from Cambuslang has long been linked with a move to his boyhood heroes in recent years, but this could be the year his dream of playing for the Ibrox side comes to fruition.

Reports suggest Gers gaffer Philippe Clement wants the Norwich City midfielder as part of his squad for their forthcoming Premiership title quest as the Light Blues seek to wrestle the title from Glasgow rivals Celtic.

It has always been McLean's desire to play for Rangers, with the Scotland international telling the Athletic in 2021: I'd be lying if I said it wasn't something I'd want to do. As a kid that's what you want to do, play for your boyhood team. Right now, I'm about to play in the Premier League again, so I'm not thinking about it!"

McLean, who signed a contract extension at Norwich last year, has been tracked by Rangers scouts towards of the end of the English Championship season last season and during Scotland's short stay in Germany for Euro 2024.

However, any move will depend on if Norwich are willing to do business with McLean still under contract for another year, while the club also have the option to extend that by a fruther 12 months. Rangers would need to hope new Canaries gaffer Johannes Hoff Thorup doesn't see McLean as part of his plans for anything to move forward.

McLean came on from the bench in every one of Scotland's three matches Germany, but was surprising deployed at left-back by Steve Clarke late on in the agonising defeat to Hungary on Sunday night that sent Scotland crashing out of the Championships.
