Spoiler warning: This feature is full of spoilers for the second instalment of Kat and Alfie: Redwater – so don't read on until you've seen episode two...

The second episode of EastEnders spinoff Kat and Alfie: Redwater saw Kat uncover Father Dermott Dolan's true identity, with a little help from her curious young son Tommy.

Kat's now aware that Dermott is her long-lost son, so what can we expect to happen next? Here are 8 more questions and talking points to keep us busy until next week.

1. How will Kat get along with her son?

So Kat finally has the answer she's waited over a year for: her long-lost son is the local priest in Redwater! We've already seen her getting along pretty well with charming farmer Andrew when she thought he was the mystery guy in question, but now we'll have to stay tuned to find out whether she can strike up a similar bond with Dermott.

Let's face it though, even without the shocking secret that Dermott has the occasional murderous moment, he can seem pretty cold and intense at the best of times. Will Kat be able to cut through this and really get to know her son? Or will she be left wishing that her first suspicions were correct and that she was actually the long-lost muvva of Andrew?

2. Can Dermott actually be trusted around Kat?

The early signs for Kat and Dermott's mother-son relationship are surprisingly good – just look at this spoiler picture of them having fun in the sea together from next week's episode.

We all know that Dermott is pretty good at putting on a deceptive front, though. He's kept quiet about how he let his adoptive mum Iris die for the past 21 years, and nobody suspects him after Lance's recent death either. Even more worryingly, his conversations with Tommy at the church hinted at mummy issues in general, including his fears that Kat would ultimately let him down.

Even though Dermott knows that it wasn't Kat's fault she was separated from him for so many years, could he start to resent her for it anyway? It seemingly doesn't take too much for Dermott's dark side to emerge, so Kat should be careful – and for pity's sake, stay out of that water...

3. Should we be worried about Dermott and Tommy?

The newly-recast Tommy seems pretty chirpy and clued-up – it was his curiosity about his mystery brother that led to Kat discovering Dermott's true identity, after all.

With a mind of his own, it seems likely that Tommy will want to get to know his brother much better in upcoming episodes – but despite his front as a man of God, could Dermott's influence prove to be a dark one on the impressionable youngster? Could Tommy even be in danger? We'd certainly sleep a lot more easily if Tommy was safely in Spain with Bert and Ernie, that's for sure.

4. Will Alfie be next to see Dermott's true colours?

The end of episode two saw Alfie seeming pretty baffled by Dermott's sudden desire to pray with Tommy at the church. Of course, Alfie now knows that the two of them are half-brothers, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to back off when it comes to his suspicions.

When we caught up with Redwater producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins recently, he hinted that Alfie would be one of the first to realise that all is not right with Dermott. After a couple of episodes on the sidelines, maybe this could give Alfie more of a purpose in Redwater moving forwards?

Dominic told us: "Alfie will want to look after Kat and he tries to do that, but he is also the one who starts smelling a rat. He starts wondering if he wants this man around his wife at all.

"More secrets start to come out after this and it all erupts, in an exciting and beautiful way."

5. Will the farm cause a family feud?

Away from the Kat and Alfie dramas, episode two also hinted at potential trouble to come for Agnes and her loved ones. Lance had the last laugh against his bossy wife by cutting her out of his will and leaving the farm to his other family members instead.

While everyone else assured Agnes that the will meant nothing and the farm was still hers in their eyes, the newly-returned Eileen clearly had other ideas as she suggested there must have been a reason behind Lance's decision.

Could Eileen go against the wishes of her family by making other plans for the farm? Seems that way, as the BBC's official synopsis for episode three reveals that Eileen "has an idea to secure the farm's future" – that won't go down well, we reckon...

6. Could Bernie uncover the truth about Lance's death?

Is Redwater about to go all Broadchurch on us? While most of Lance's family haven't appeared too suspicious about his death, Bernie was curious when her daughter Adeen revealed that she had pictures from the moment she found his body.

When Bernie spotted something on the photos that made her suspicious, she used her police contacts to get them sent off to the lab for further investigation. Could the pictures pinpoint Dermott to the scene of the crime?

7. Is Dermott's conscience getting the better of him?

It's hard to know how guilty Dermott actually feels about his brutal treatment of Lance. He went to the confessional to reveal his own sins, but later told Tommy that it was actually Lance's time to go, suggesting that he's not feeling too bad about it after all.

Even so, Dermott has since seen a spooky vision of Lance, which either means Redwater is turning into a supernatural drama (!) or the dodgy priest is feeling a bit more guilty than he makes out. Could Lance continue to pop up to haunt Dermott from beyond the grave?

8. What will Agnes do next?

She's easily our favourite of the new characters we've been introduced to in Redwater, and Agnes should certainly be one to watch moving forwards. She's been adamant that Kat and Dermott shouldn't have a chance to get to know each other, fearing that it would open a Pandora's Box of secrets and lies.

But with Dermott clearly having his own mind, Agnes's worst fears have come true and it's all out in the open. So where does this leave Agnes? Could she become even more of a thorn in Kat's side and stand in the way of her chances of bonding with Dermott? Or will she be more distracted by problems closer to home?
