Rescue Crews Respond to Flooding After Storm Dennis Drenches Worcestershire

The UK was hit by strong wind and heavy rain as Storm Dennis arrived over the weekend, prompting evacuations and continued rescue operations on Monday, February 17.

Police said they have been searching for a woman who was swept away by floodwater in the English county of Worcestershire on Sunday. Officials said on Monday that they thought the effort “will now be a recovery rather than rescue operation” due to the length of time the woman has been missing.

A man was also rescued from the same floodwater and airlifted to a hospital.

This footage, provided by the West Mercia Search and Rescue, shows a crew wading through floodwater to check on properties between Eardiston and Eastham, near Tenbury.

“We also have command teams in place nearby, our drone up to check on safe routes and properties, and our medical first responders on standby to receive any casualties,” West Mercia Search and Rescue said on Facebook. They also appealed for donations to help their services. Credit: West Mercia Search and Rescue via Storyful
