Rescue Efforts Continue at Site of Deadly Chocolate Factory Explosion in Pennsylvania

Rescue efforts continued in West Reading, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, March 25, at the site of a deadly factory explosion that killed at least two people on Friday.

At a news conference on Friday night, West Reading Police Chief Wayne Holben told local media that a large explosion destroyed a building at the RM Palmer Company in West Reading at around 5pm local time.

Holben was not able to provide a final number of injuries from the incident, but said eight people were taken to hospital for treatment. The cause of the explosion was under investigation, Holben said.

On Saturday afternoon, the Reading Eagle reported that one survivor was pulled from the rubble and five people were still missing.
