Comedian and The Apprentice: You're Fired host Rhod Gilbert has revealed he recently suffered a suspected 'mini-stroke' while at home in London, calling it a "really odd episode".

He explained how he was referred to a nearby stroke clinic after experiencing 30 seconds of involuntary shaking and has undergone tests that have since ruled out any neurological causes.

Speaking to Wales Online, Rhod described the experience, revealing that he was sitting on the toilet and his left arm began shaking involuntarily and said it was like he was "waving at someone".

"About 30 seconds it went on for," he continued, "and I can vouch 100% for the fact there was absolutely no-one else there in the loo with me.

"So who my arm thought it was saying hello to I really don't know. It was a really odd episode."

Luckily, it looks like Rhod is feeling well enough to joke about the experience now, even while he added that he's still waiting on some results of the tests by the stroke clinic.

"I'm still waiting for the result of heart tests they gave me," he said, "but I'm pretty sure it'll turn out to be nothing serious."

Rhod was speaking ahead of the return of his BBC One Wales series Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience, which sees the comedian take on 'regular jobs' that he thinks are harder than being a stand-up comedian.

Last year he made his debut as the new host of The Apprentice: You're Fired - and he also chose 2016 to recount a pretty weird anecdote about horse's penis and a bicycle bump during his last visit to The Graham Norton Show sofa, in case you're interested.

Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience returns to BBC One Wales on Friday, March 10 at 10.35pm. It's also available to watch on iPlayer.
