Richard Armitage shares reaction to unbelievable Red Eye ending
Red Eye star Richard Armitage has shared his reaction to the show's unbelievable ending.
The new ITV drama follows Dr Matthew Nolan (Armitage), who is arrested on his return to the UK from China, after being involved in a car crash in which a woman is claimed to have died.
Despite assuring police he was alone in the vehicle, the doctor is escorted back to Beijing by DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi) to face charges. When a murder unexpectedly takes place on the red-eye flight, the pair are soon embroiled in a dangerous conspiracy.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Armitage detailed his initial reaction to the show's gripping finale, revealing that he was skeptical at first.
"So my early response was, 'Oh, come on. How on earth are we going to believe that that's happened?' Which I've had before with other things," he said.
"And of course, the answer to that is, 'What if? What if this was happening? How would you deal with it?' Making the high body count a believable scenario required me to just put myself in the place of what if something did escalate out of our control."
The Fool Me Once actor went on to explain how he prepared for the role, admitting that it was "more interesting" that he didn't know much about his character beforehand.

"Normally, I would write this whole biography for the character, but I just thought actually, it's more interesting to me to really not know who he is," he said.
"There are moments where you start to think he's a bit more knowing than he's letting on and in his desire to keep his reputation intact, because he believes he's innocent, but he starts to doubt himself and he's starting to wonder what were they doing in Beijing? And who did he meet?"
Directed by Kieron Hawkes from a script by Peter A. Dowling, the series also stars Lesley Sharp, Jemma Moore, Dan Li, Kevan MacKenzie and Cash Holland.
Red Eye airs on ITV1 from Sunday, April 21 and is available to stream on ITVX.
