Yahoo News Ricky Hatton holidays with Claire Sweeney in Tenerife - and takes her to watch City down the pub
Manchester Boxing legend Ricky Hatton and new girlfriend, former Corrie star Claire Sweeney, have been cosying up as they holiday together in Tenerife.
And he is already sharing one of his big passions in life with her, by taking her to the pub to watch his beloved Manchester City in action.
Ricky and Claire met while filming Dancing on Ice last year and have been spotted on a series of dates over the past month or so. Late last month they stepped out on the Red Carpet for the first time at a gig by Ricky Astley to launch beleaguered music venue Co-op Live.
And they appear to be going from strength to strength as Ricky posted pictures of them together on holiday on the Canary Island where he is a regular visitor.
Ricky, 45, posted snaps on his Instagram of him and Claire, 53, leaning in as they enjoyed a romantic dinner, as well as a group picture with the staff where he said they had had 'a great evening and food.'
Massive City fan Ricky earlier posted a snap of them in a bar in the resort of Los Cristianos where they watched the Premier League title chasers 5-1 over Wolves with pals dressed in City t-shirts. In a post accompanying the snap he said: "Great day with me besties. Great win for the Blues as well."
Rumours of the pair's romance first emerged early last month. They were then spotted leaving a pub in his hometown of Hyde, Tameside, together.
They were seen leaving their first boozer with friends at around 6pm, with Ricky carrying bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne. The pair were later spotted arm in arm arriving at another nearby pub at about 11pm, with their arms around one another.
It then emerged that the previous night the pair were spotted visiting The Crown pub in Heaton Moor, Stockport, where they were said to have been hanging out with the locals during an evening of live music.
On Claire's birthday last month, Ricky posted his first public message about her saying: ""Happy birthday claire. Have the best day gorgeous. Lots of love. Ricky. xxx @claire.sweeney" to which she replued by saying: "Thank you darling,"
Their first official public appearance was at the Co-op Live event on April 20. Ricky and Claire were among a host of famous faces who were invited to the "test event" at the venue which has since been forced to cancel a number of shows. Pals branded them a 'match made in heaven' after pictures were published of them on the red carpet together.
Claire has also recently confirmed she has signed up for another year in Weatherfield, after making her Corrie debut as Cassie Plummer, the real mum of Tyrone Dobbs and daughter of Evelyn Plummer last summer.
